Install Video Controls Plus
Add Video Controls Plus from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons or Firefox Add-ons, and speed control works as soon as it is installed.

Add it to your browser
- Open the store page for your browser from the table above.
- Add the extension, and confirm when the browser shows the permissions.
- Pin it to the toolbar from the browser's Extensions button, so the popup is one click away.
A welcome page opens inside the extension. Walk through it or skip it. One of its steps offers Connect to your account, and you can skip that step and connect later.
On Firefox
The add-on needs Firefox 140 or newer, and Firefox shows the data the add-on collects when you add it.
Firefox also asks for two optional data permissions: usage events are sent only if "technical and interaction data" is allowed, and page content is sent only after you allow "website content", which the add-on asks for the first time it is needed. Privacy and permissions lists what each one covers.
Connecting to your account works on Firefox the same way as on Chrome and Edge, and the controls that need a connected account are listed in Account and sync with the steps to connect.
What the browser asks for
The extension asks for access to all sites, because it has to find the video on any page you open. Each permission and the reason for it is listed in Privacy and permissions.
