What Video Controls Plus is
Video Controls Plus is a browser extension that adds playback controls to HTML5 video. You control the video player the way you want it, on any site that plays a standard video, and you get special tools on YouTube, Netflix and LinkedIn.
It ships for Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
What you control
Speed comes first. Press ] to go 0.1x faster and [ to go 0.1x slower, and that works without an account.
It does a lot more than change the speed: you can loop a part of a video with an A-B loop, boost the audio up to 400%, adjust brightness, contrast and saturation, save a frame as a screenshot, and keep notes with the timestamp. Without an account, you have speed, presets, frame step, Picture-in-Picture, share timestamp, browser-local bookmarks and the widget. The A-B loop, audio boost, filters, screenshots, notes and auto-skip open after you connect an account.
Version 16.3.0 adds a set of tools to the widget and to Settings. Comfort, the Study timer, Zoom & fit, the Automation section, watch limits and Focus Mode need no account. Looks and effects, audio tools, capture and export, the library tools and watch parties need a connected account, and each page below says which part needs what.
