Study with a timer, a transcript and chapters
The Study timer runs focus rounds and breaks, the transcript panel shows the captions a video already has beside it, and Make chapters with AI turns those captions into chapters. The timer and the transcript need no account.
Study timer
Open the widget's Smart tab and find Study timer.
- Pick a Preset: Classic 25/5, Short 15/3, Long focus 50/10, Study 45/10, or Your own lengths.
- Press Start. The timer shows Focus, Break or Long break, and which round you are on.
- Press Pause and Resume as you need, or Skip to break.
- Reset the timer starts over.
It counts today's focus minutes against your Daily focus goal and shows a day streak. One timer runs for the whole browser. Its counts stay in this browser.
Settings, Video Features tab, Study timer sets the lengths, Long break after (rounds) and the goal. It can also Pause the video during breaks and Play it again when the break ends, with a Sound at the end of a round or a Browser notification at the end of a round.
Transcript
Press Show transcript on the widget's Tools tab. The panel opens beside the widget with the captions the video already has, and the line playing now is highlighted.
- Click a line to jump there.
- Type in Search the transcript to find a line.
- Follow the video keeps the playing line in view.
- Copy all copies the whole transcript.
It works on videos that carry captions. A video with none shows "This video has no captions, so there is no transcript." The extension does not make captions from the audio.
Chapters from the captions
In the transcript panel, press Make chapters with AI. One AI run turns the captions into 3 to 15 chapters. It uses the same route as the AI summary: your Shared allowance with a connected account, your own key, or a local model (AI features).
Click a chapter to jump to it. The playing chapter is marked. Copy chapters gives "0:00 Title" lines, and Make again spends a new run. Chapters are kept for each video in this browser, for up to 50 videos.
Practice a part
On the widget's Loop tab, Practice helps you learn a hard part of an A-B loop, which needs a connected account. Pause before each pass waits 1 to 5 seconds at point A. Speed up each pass adds 5% or 10% each time, up to normal speed. Set a slower speed first.
Shortcuts
"Start or pause the study timer" and "Show or hide the transcript" start with no key. Set them in Change a shortcut.
